CTDOT Complete Streets Design Criteria to Improve Roadway Safety and Enhance Mobility

Announces that the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) implemented new Complete Streets design criteria for integration into all projects. The design criteria focuses on three areas to improve safety and mobility: pedestrian facilities, bicycle facilities, and transit provisions. A formal design exemption and approval is required by the CTDOT Chief Engineer if a project does not meet the three criteria.
