San Francisco provides a a bicycle fleet to most city departments for use for work-related trips during the work day. The City Bike Fleet was created in 2001 as part of the Department of Energy's Clean Air & Transportation Program. It is meant to reduce carbon emissions made by City & County of San Francisco (CCSF) employees by reducing motor vehicle trips related to daily work routines. The City Bike Fleet program is funded by the Transportation Fund for Clean Air, which is managed by the San Francisco County Transportation Authority (SFCTA).

This report presents the results of a survey that was administered to program users, and also includes an overview of the environmental and economic benefits of the program.
