Vision Zero Traffic Fatalities: 2018 End of Year Report

Report summarizes characteristics of traffic deaths in San Francisco from 2014-2018. Note that traffic fatality totals are susceptible to random variation. Year-to-year changes as well as annual patterns in the data where there are small sample sizes may thus be due to chance. Analyzing longer-term trends helps address this issue. SFDPH also monitors and reports on severe injuries to understand trends and characteristics of the most serious traffic-related injuries, which serves as an additional metric by which to evaluate the progress of Vision Zero efforts.
